I Know I’m Late, Fridays My Day Off.
This is two day old news so by now those of you with your finger on the pulse may have already seen this. However for those of you who aren’t up on current affairs or who, for example, are in prison for exposing yourself in church and have limited Internet access but still find time to come check out the latest news at the thegamershub.co.uk(we appreciate it) this may be interesting. On Friday Sega released a new trailer for their brutally gory yet wholly entertaining upcoming first-person bloodfest Aliens Vs. Predator. This trailer is different though as instead of doing what so many trailers before have done and focusing on the Predator, this one shows off the Marines. The trailer gives us a tasty glimpse of some of the abilities we can expect when playing as the(lets face it) slightly outclassed human warriors. As any fan of the series will know darkness is a Marines worst enemy, as this is where Aliens are at their deadliest. Well, as you’ll see in this trailer the dev’s cleverly circumvent this problem by giving the player flares to throw that instantly light up the surrounding area, meaning the games twin mouthed monsters have nowhere to hide.The trailer also boasts some… interesting background music. Lets just say if you’ve ever dreamed of firing off futuristic weaponry in an alien infested techno club, this game may be a dream come true. In a side note Aliens Vs. Predator isn’t released until February 16th in North America(or February 19th in the EU) but there is a multiplayer demo available for download out there already so check it out. Are There Even Any Aliens In This Game?
Today Sega released a gameplay trailer for the upcoming first-person shooter/action/survival horror game Aliens Vs Predator. The game will allow the player to play through three separate but intertwining campaigns: one for the Predator, one for the Aliens and one for the Marines. However as with pretty much all the promotional material Sega has released for the game the trailer only shows the gameplay for the Predator but, lets face it, that’s the one everyone wants to see right? The trailer shows off several of the new game mechanics used for the Predator, including the ‘focus jumping’ system. One thing of note is the Predators voice recorder and playback tool which in this game the player can apparently use to cause a distraction and draw marines to a particular spot, effectively dividing squads of marines and allowing for easier kills. Of course the trailer doesn’t show us what we’re really looking for, the fabled ‘trophy kill’ system. Nevertheless it should go a long way to whetting the appetites of the non-believers and naysayers. Well I’ve babbled long enough, to view the trailer click here and enjoy.
