At first glance the laser based projector isn’t much awe over. It’s not big, its not bulky, and immediately you think how is this thing going to project any good quality movies or games. Then you see what the projector can do and you are simply amazed at all the technological capabilities that this little guy has in him. The projector is ideal for gamers. For a little while the company was actually marketing the product for us, and honestly I now understand why. Imagine taking a projector out of your backpack and hooking up your PS3 or Xbox 360. Then playing Black Op’s on a 300′ projection with full HD (1080p).

The XJ-A155 Light is one of the most badass I've seen.

The projector does not use mercury to power the projection itself like most other companies do. They actually use lasers and from my eyes it actually looks like the picture quality is better with a laser based product. The projector itself can last up to 20,000 hours and best part of no mercury means your bulb wont explode. Which means no hazmat teams need to come to your house to clean it for you, unless you like that sort of thing. On the projection I played EA’s racing game, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, and the reactions I heard from numerous amount of people was, “wow!”

Last E3 Casio and EA partnered up together to bring these projectors around college campuses in the U.S. The response according to a Casio PR rep was, “Outstanding students kept coming up to us and kept asking about our product. The projector was also shown at EA’s EA: MMA party at last years E3 people were playing the game on with bedsheets and the quality still didn’t change.

The projector can also wirelessly (is that a word?) connect up to 4 PC’s. They were originally targeting this towards businessmen who have presentations, but could you imagine having raid night on one of these baby’s. I know I’ll be raiding with one of these with my level 85 Paladin.

The projectors go for a very affordable price range of $900-$1700, and is out now at retailers in the U.S., U.K., and Japan. Do yourself a favor and buy one. I guarantee you wont regret it.

So everyone I just got back from my Intel booth tour and there was some pretty cool stuff like on demand gaming, tablets powered by intel i5 processors, and some pretty cool internet television stuff. But the thing that caught my attention during my short tour was Intel Rep using motion controls on Portal 2. As of right, and to my knowledge, Valve has only shown off Portal 2 with Playstation Move and Intel’s new motion control Razer.

Razer’s motion controls were first introduced at last years CES, and then no announcements have been made saying which games will be able to use the new motion control system. Powered by Sixense technology the controls are powered by a magnetic field that will very accurately read your movements while playing a game. With Portal 2 the Intel Rep was playing with some DLC that was specifically made by Valve for Motion Controls. The Razer controls will be offered, retail price, for $99.

Images from today’s demo will be uploaded later today on this article.

The famed developer made the announcement in the Cerberus Daily News update that you see when you first log into the Mass Effect 2 game, you know that thing you constantly ignore when you want to play some ME2 and kick some collector booty. Yea I didn’t know it had a purpose either other than to be ignored. Seems like it does now.

Well the daily announcements will cease this month on the 24th. However, there will be additional updates when the downloadable content is available next year, and leading up to the release of Mass Effect 3 during holiday 2011.

Bioware’s official statement:

The Cerberus Daily News will begin a hiatus on January 24th, finishing its run of one full year. Daily postings will cease except for three weeks in 2011: a week of posts will precede a downloadable content release, and two more weeks will lead up to the release of Mass Effect 3.

The CDN team thanks fans for their attention, comments, and feedback, (both in and out of character!). We are sorry to go, but we had fun –- we hope you did, too!

I’m sure we can all thank them for the awesome DLC they pumped out for us in the last year, and now we look forward to what they have coming in the future.

Mass Effect 2 will be released on the PS3 on January 18, 2011.

When Sony President, Kazuo Hirai, spoke to the New York Times he confirmed that the PSP2 will feature touch controls.

“Depending on the game, there are ones where you can play perfectly well with a touch panel,” he then added, “But you can definitely play immersive games better with physical buttons and pads. I think there could be games where you’re able to use both in combination.” Of course he could have only been referencing to the exhausting arguments between Sony and Microsoft that PlayStation Move’s physical buttons allow for greater variety in gameplay than rival Kinect.

Rumours of a PSP successor have been ongoing for several months, with most pointing towards a track pad on the back of the device – although some rumours mention a touchscreen display on the front as well. A recent patent application made by Sony also describes a rear-mounted touch-sensitive panel.

Later on in the Interview Hirai was very dismissive of competition from other mobile platforms, saying: “The games being played on Android and Apple platforms are fundamentally different from the world of immersive games that Sony Computer Entertainment, and PlayStation, aims for.”

Hirai also acknowledged rumours of a PlayStation-branded smartphone, believed to be based on current PSP technology. Despite leaked images being in wide circulation, Hirai was concerned at the dangers of confusing customers over which device to buy because, yea know, they don’t want you spending to much money on their products.

“We don’t want gamers to be asking, what’s the difference between that and a PSP,” he said. “We have to come up with a message that users will understand. It would have to be a product that keeps the PlayStation’s strengths intact.”

source: GBI

Analyst Michael Pachter has said that he thinks the PSP2 will be “dead on arrival”, and that the only handhelds with a bright future are Apple’s Ipod devices.

Speaking during his Pach Attack! show on Gametrailers.com, Pachter answered a question about the future of the handhelds with a less than stellar prediction for Sony’s PSP2.

“We’re way approaching saturation on the handheld market,” Pachter told viewers.

“We’re starting to see DS hardware sales crack, I think the ubiquity of the iPod Touch is cutting into the handheld market. I think the PSP is dead on arrival and I think the PSP2 is going to be dead on arrival.

“It looks to me like young kids are just as happy playing with an iPod Touch or a Nano. The Touch is cool, it plays games, plays music, they’re going to put a camera in it and you’re going to get all kinds of cool stuff.”

The Industry Analyst also went on to talk about Nintendo’s upcoming handheld system, 3DS.

“The 3DS will prolong the handheld market for the game manufacturers, but ultimately, I think handhelds are in trouble. I really think as the iPod Touch gets more and more powerful, you’re going to see a lot of free games over there.

“What’s the difference if you play Tetris on an iPod Touch or on a DS? Well, you pay a buck on the iPod Touch, you pay $20 on the DS. Parents prefer $1 or free software, I think the iPod Touch is going to sell really, really well. So, after the 3DS has had its little rush I think the handhelds will continue to decline.”

Pachter also foresees a further round of price cuts for the PS3 and 360, expecting their prices to drop to the $200 range in the US by next Christmas, a move which he believes will see a lot of consumers “upgrading their Wiis” as a result.

As regarding to handheld news multiple other analysts, along with the TGH crew, are speculating that the PSP2 or PSphone will be announced in the upcoming tech convention, CES 2011, on January 6th. Although Sony has a press event before the famed gadget convention starts. The press conference will be starting on January 5th at 5:00pm . TGH will be there at the Las Vegas Convention Center to cover the event and the entire CES convention.

Fallout 3 surprised the gaming world with its in-depth story and drastic new approach to the Fallout franchise. In fact it even revolutionized the RPG genre by implementing a RPG with a first person shooter. Not to mention it featured one of the most in-depth and open world we have ever seen. Remember the first time you stepped out of your prison, a.k.a. Vault 101, and saw the Capital Wasteland? Of course you do! Well Fallout: New Vegas will have you reliving these moments all over again in a different world, the Mojave Wasteland and New Vegas!

Fallout: New Vegas takes place 3 years after the events of Fallout 3 and if you are hoping for a direct sequel to Bethesda’s most previous game you may be slightly disappointed. First the game is now being developed by Obsidian the guys behind Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Alpha Protocol. Second the game will have no direct tie to the Fallout 3 and the Capital Wasteland; it will be mentioned every now and then. Hell you might even run into a few Easter Eggs, but besides those simple things you won’t see much.

I didn’t get to see a chance of the famous Vegas Strip, but I did get a chance to run around the eerily accurate Mojave Desert. The one thing I will point out is that the world is enormous I probably was able to only see about an eighth of the world and I spent a good hour playing the game. My exploitations led me to a few firefights and here I used the games new crosshair shooting mode. The new viewing mode was needless to say not helpful, for me at least. Unless you’re using a sniper rifle the rifles do not do enough damage for the crosshairs to aid you at all times. I started using the cowboy repeater and using the new updated VATS system. There is not much new to the actual system so why they call it new is weird to me. The animations for the VATS are still as gory as ever so no need to worry about that.

The raiders were shooting from everywhere and they were killing me fast, I had to do something. That’s when I opened up the new menu and scrolled over to take a stimpack. While I was in the menu I thought I would just scroll around the weapons and armor section for a bit and that is when I fell in love with a weapon that was revealed to me in two simple words: Grenade Machinegun. I had to whip it out and teach those raiders whose boss!

Well you can simply imagine I dealt with them no problem, and went on to continue my journey that later led me to the Primm Casino. Which is an actual casino located outside of Vegas pretty close to the Stateline. A Brotherhood of Steel soldier later came up to me and implored that I stay away from the casino turned prison. A riot has just taken place and the prisoners have just taken control of the facility. I told him that this would no longer be a problem and would take care of it right away.

So I took a stealthy approach to taking back the prison and eliminated every enemy in my path one by one, until I reached the top of the broken down roller coaster. Once I got here I brought back out my grenade machinegun and rained down explosives onto the facility. The poor cons didn’t stand a chance against the hellfire that was being brought down upon them. Once I took care of all the inmates I returned to the Brother of Steel and let him know that the facility was officially under control.

He thanked me and I went on my way. Some of the most fun I have ever had within a Fallout game happened at the Primm Casino. How often do you get to a high point in Fallout 3 and rain down grenades onto an evil bunch of dudes? Not often unless you count going to the top of the Washington Monument and just throwing stuff off of there, but that’s probably not a good idea still.

Look forward to wiping out the raiders October 19th, 2010!

Epic Mickey is Disney’s newest video game title–for the Wii–that is being created by Warren Spector, the mastermind game designer behind such games like Deus Ex and System Shock, and the fine development team over at Disney Interactive. I got a chance to play the game myself over at the Disney booth at PAX Prime this year, and I will have to say I am “pleasantly surprised” with the path they are taking Mickey down.

Robert A. Iger CEO of the Walt Disney Corporation addressed shareholders one time in the monthly Backstage Pass Magazine, “We here at Disney are looking to bring Mickey back to his mischievous roots, not in a bad way, but in a fun loving way. We all know that Mickey has nothing but heart in him, but in the old days he did get himself into quite a lot of trouble…”

Mickey uses his spin move to shut off the robot arm. Photo by Travis Orgel

Well that essence defiantly is shown by Warren Spector and he nails the retro Mickey essence down to the very looks of him.

If you are expecting to see a Mickey game that is centered on the Mickey’s Clubhouse Animated Series you’ll be sadly mistaken. Not to worry our parent readers out there the game still is very family friendly, but it offers something for everyone. The older crowd would very much enjoy the darker, steampunk environments that Warren Spector is famous for creating, while having their child become heavily invested into a deep and rich puzzle solving story. Warren is using the Mickey that my grandparents grew up with not the more modern one we see on the daytime children show. This helps bring out the,” going back to the roots,” feeling that Disney is trying to attempt.

Mickey uses his thinner to erase a mistake! Photo by Travis Orgel

The game starts you off with a beautifully done cinematic which can be seen here. After it is done you are then transported into another world where imagination and quick wits is the key to surviving. Then we meet up with Oswald the Rabbit, Walt Disney’s very fist cartoon creation. Then suddenly we are caught by an enormous robot arm that is controlled by the Mad Doctor of the lab then he tries his best to torcher Mickey with all sorts of contraptions and fails miserably. After the Mad Doctor failed attempt to torcher Mickey is finished Mickey then has to escape the room of a flaying mad robot arm hook. Luckily Gus is there to help us make our escape and guide us to where we can find Oswald the Rabbit. First we needed to shut off the robot somehow so Gus taught us how to spin by shaking the Wii remote to break the main contraptions that were controlling the robot. After a few spins Gus told us it was all clear and a new stylized cinematic appeared.

Mickey using paint to create a gear so he can open the door. Photo by Travis Orgel

Whoever is creating these artistic cinematics is doing a great job, and Disney should hire him as a full time animator to help make their future cartoon movies actually good. The movies are done in this kind of wet paint style that is fully animated throughout the game.

“It’s actually inspired from some of the old comics Walt Disney did back in the early days of the corporation. More specifically towards the Mickey Mouse Magazine,” said a Disney Booth Representative.

A 1930s Mickey Mouse Magazine

After the cinematic was done we then proceeded to the hall where Gus taught us all about Paint and Thinner the main tools or “weapons” in the game. Paint is used to fill in the places where stuff should be; whereas thinner is used to erase stuff from very existence. We then solved a few puzzles down the hall where, once the hall ended, we found ourselves in a courtyard where we encountered our first enemy.

Now here is where things get a little dark. Mickey when presented with an option is allowed to either turn them into a friend by using the paint to turn him to your side, or erase him from very existence by using the thinner. That’s where it came to me that this game is seriously fun! After that we then went onto solving puzzles, and your run of the mill type platformer stuff. Epic Mickey is something that every kid and adult should look out for when it comes out to the Wii in Q4 2010. I sure as hell know I’ll be dusting off my Wii for this game!

Crysis was the game that pushed your computers graphics cards to the limit. In fact even most of todays graphics cards won’t be able to play the game. Well throw out your mouse and keyboard for a controller, the game is now hitting consoles!

Yours truly, The Gamers Hub, was invited to an exclusive party/event where the games multiplayer was featured. I, and the staff writers from torocast.com, all got a chance to play the games ultra-competitive team deathmatch and had loads of fun playing the game. The game offers a lot to the plate that no other game, that I am aware of, has done before. Imagine a mix of Halo and Call of Duty, throw in some superpowers and BAM! You got Crysis 2.

In this photo we were able to use our camoflauge ability so the guy would pass right by us. Giving us a perfect shot in the back.

The game first starts off with you choosing your class in the game you had a chance to make a selection from either the ghost, assault, scout, heavy weapons, or demolitions classes. Yet the classes only benefits will be the weapons you start with. Everybody in the game will have abilities like super strength and camouflage which is very useful. All of these features come from a nano-suit that your character wears in the multiplayer game. The suit will also give you super agile abilities like the ability to sprint 60 miles-an-hour or the very cool,”let’s jump 50 feet to reach that balcony over there and then shoot our buddy with a shotgun ability!” Well thats what executive producer of Crysis 2, Nathan Camarillo, calls it. Yet these abilities aren’t unlimited. You do have a limit because you use the suit’s energy as the source.

Crysis 2 also offers an engaging new twist on the now-common “Kill Streak” mechanic. Rather than just automatically awarding benefits when you kill a number of enemies in a row, Crysis 2‘s enemy players will drop their dog tags when killed in a skillful manner – like a headshot, or a melee sneak attack. Players must physically collect the dog tags from fallen foes, meaning that a sniper can’t just sit in the back all day racking up a massive killstreak bonus. To compensate, they persist through death, so you can either use the low-level reward as often as you get it, or you can save up for more powerful boosts like an alien support gunship without worrying that you’ll get killed sprinting from your hiding spot to pick up the dog tag you needed.

Crysis 2 offers a lot to the table and will be a serious contender, with other multiplayer games, when in comes out next year.

After 12 $%#ing years the game better be good. When I walked into the demo booth and heard these words I was instantly brought back to time when Duke was alive and kicking. Now after actually playing the game (Yes I played the game at PAX!) I can really say that the 12 #$@%ing years it was well worth the wait.

The presses demo first started off with a classic unrated trailer that they weren’t allowed to show the general public due to some pretty sensual and sexual things that were shown in it. Yet the press was allowed to see it and I can say that this game is not for children under the age of 18. It started off with a lot of alien invaders taking all the women and and ripping apart all of the statues of the Dukes honor. You would think after this that the king would be $#%#ing pissed right!

Well Duke himself told us, “Damn why do they always take the hot ones? Now they just $#@ing pissed me off!!!” It was then after this trailer that the king made his triumphant return by blowing shit up with grenades, ripping off the tusks off of alien creatures, punching–with his fists–gargantuan, titanate, alien invaders in the balls, and then punching them with a grenade in the face. IN THE FACE!

I myself am instantly in love with the game although the graphics do not look that great who cares! Its the effing king baby! Guys we here at TGH have something special for you sometime later we will have a video interview with Lead Creative Director of Duke Nukemen Forever as well as some screen shots of the demo to show you just how awesome it is. Now I got to go and eat my Duke Sterloids I got from the 2k and Gearbox guys.

“You can definetly expect the game to come out in 2011, and that is going to happen no more bullshit and no more delays!” Words from Lead Creative Director. Hail to the king baby!

Also the game is coming out on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360!

With September 19th vastly approaching the Playstation Move is already getting reviewed by some of the larger media websites. Websites like IGN and Endgadget already have their reviews of the long awaited motion controller for the PS3 already posted and the general consistence is, “It’s a gadget with potential,” said IGN.

An adorable little guy

The motion controller definitely has some of the usual bugs you will expect to see from a device straight out of launch but its biggest let down so far is the games. None of us here at TGH have had a chance to review or try out any of them since E3–I believe–so its hard to give you OUR opinion if the device and the games are a worth while purchase at launch. Games like Eyepet are a great casual gamers dream if they are looking to have an adorable companion to play with without the hassle of picking up its shit and feeding it. Yet with games like Sports Champion IGN says, ” the experience starts to feel like the same-old-same-old pretty quick.”

Haven't we seen this before?

Reviews on the device its self indicate that the device is truly a lot more accurate than the Wii’s controller, but has some problems when it comes to brightly lit rooms. Making you re-adjust your Move system again and again.

“Move could prove to be a great way to add new gameplay experiences to the PlayStation 3 and attract new, more casual players.”

Yet were going to have to wait till the hardware actually comes out on October 21st with a price range of around 50-100 dollars US.
