Linkin Park Team up With EA for Medal of Honor Trailer
Metal of Honor
If you have ears then there’s a chance you like music. In which case this tasty tidbit of news may interest you. EA are teaming up with two-time Grammy award winning rockers Linkin Park for an upcoming trailer of EA and Dice’s reboot of the Medal of Honor franchise. The resurrected shooter will see players plonked squarely in the boot steps of modern day soldiers fighting the war in Afghanistan, as well as taking on the more covert responsibilities of so called “Tier-one Operators”.
The new trailer, directed by LP’s Joe “Mr” Hahn, features a mix of live action and in game footage, and of course the whole thing is set to Linkin “Don’t-call-us-Nu-Metal” Park’s powerful melodies. The song in question, The Catalyst, is the lead single off Linkin Park’s next album A Thousand Suns which is scheduled for release on September 14th. Speaking to the press recently Joe Hahn said “This is a unique, creative association for us and a collaboration that we are excited about … We are enormously proud of the music on A Thousand Suns and are excited to have created an exclusive trailer around the lead track.”
Hinting at the idea that this isn’t a one-off, EA’s Worldwide Executive for Music and Music Marketing Steve Schnur said “Medal of Honor marks the beginning of an innovative new relationship between EA and Linkin Park … they have always been an intensely creative group who understand the power of video games and have wanted to explore and expand the medium’s possibilities.” The trailer will be released on August 1st exclusively at www.medalofhonor.com/linkinpark and the game itself will hit store shelves October 15th.
