PSN Suffers From Widespread Error
Many PS3 owners suffered the widespread and aggravating PSN error last night. Gamers are reporting not being able to log into there PSN accounts, not able to sync trophies, and ever losing many trophies in the process of syncing.
“We’re aware that many of you are having problems connecting to PSN, and yes, we’re looking into it. Stay tuned for updates,” is what PlayStation’s Twitter account read.
According to the playstation community team the error is only affecting those who own the older models of the PS3. “PSN status update (part 2): Readers/followers are confirming that “slim” units (120/250 GB models) are connecting normally,” via Twitter.
You may have even noticed that have not been able to load a chapter in Quantic Dreams latest epic, Heavy Rain, well unfortunately the game is now unplayable due to connections with Sony PSN servers.
It is unclear at the moment what caused the PSN to crash. Yet some hackers are claiming that they caused the PSN to crash.
The latest to come from Playstation is, “Know that we have narrowed down the issue and have engineers working to restore service even as you read this. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, and genuinely appreciate your patience while we work to resolve this,” Is what the latest update from the Playstation blog.
So the point is don’t sync your trophies unless you want to lose them. I learned that the hard way.

Mmm, first time anything like this has ever happened. I hope things get back to normal soon; I have some Uncharted 2 to play!

I’m sure hackers are being a bit silly about this. Let’s face it, a multi-million pound company would have some kind of security, so I’d say it would just be the management. Bear in mind this happened back in 08 where the network was purposely suspended. I’d say PSN need to sort out they’re priorities!
