Activision Continues to Layoff Employees
A couple of days ago big name studio, Activision, clarified that they will shutdown Underground Studio whose last game product was developed Guitar Hero: Van Halen. The company is also rumored that they are shuttering RedOctane, who is the hardware developer for for the Guitar Hero Series.
“I can confirm that as part of our overall strategy to release fewer Guitar Hero SKUs in 2010, we are closing the Underground Studio and relocating the Guitar Hero headquarters to Santa Monica under the leadership of David Haddad,” A company spokesperson noted to the gaming media earlier in the week.

Yet again Activision did not confirm nor deny that they are shuttering RedOctane. An article from Kotaku read that the company has been completely shutdown with only a scarce number of top employees reporting to Activision.
Right before this announcement Activsion also reported that they cut jobs on a number of employees over at Neversoft, creator of the Tony Hawk franchise, and Radical Entertainment. Then after the dreaded announcement of job losses for a number o former employees. The company also came out and said that they are shutting down development studio Luxoflux.
