Platinum Hits Announced
Well if any of you frequent Xbox.com you would have seen the BIG HEADLINE that new Platinum Hits have been announced for the Xbox 360. I could care less if these games were given the title “Platinum Hit” i just want to get them now they cost a measly $29.99
There are some big named games on this list too, including Fable 2, Left For Dead, and Fallout 3. I loved when Microsoft came out with the idea of labeling their best selling games and knocking down the price significantly, basically allowing people to get some of the greatest games the console has to offer for a 2-for-1 deal.
It makes total sense for a lot of gamers to wait for the best games of the year to reach Platinum status and snag em at half price. For example, Fallout 3 was released on October 28th, 2008 in North America and has just recently reached Platinum status, early in 2010. Therefore if you were smart and decided to wait to get the game now, you only missed out on playing it by roughly a little over a year.
Now I bet some of you are reading this and going “You’ve got to be kidding me, wait an entire year to play a game!?” Well for those people, don’t be stupid. Some people, check that, MOST people cannot go out and throw away $59.99 for a video game that they will beat in a week or two. That game needs to last them a while. So it makes total sense to buy older games at a much reduced price and get your fill until the game you want hits Platinum. They are basically waiting for the game to be released, just for them the release date is a year later, and there isn’t a damn thing wrong with that.
