My Biggest Issue with Gaming…
I’m not sure if anyone out there is going to agree with what I’m about to say, but I need to get this out in the open. I love World of Warcraft. It’s a fantastic MMORPG, possibly the greatest one ever to be made, yet I can’t play it. I physically cannot sit there in front of my computer and play it for more than 2-3 hours. Now to many of you out there, 2-3 hours playing a game may seem like a lot, but to WoW players, its chump change. 3 Hours is a starter for most WoW gamers out there, and I wish I could be one of them.
I’ve had this issue with RPGs/MMOs in the past. If there is a long term playability factor in a game, I just cannot do it. If I can remember correctly, my last character in WoW, which was a Human Paladin named Tiansun, only reached level 32 before I just stopped. No outside reason, no complaint about the cost, and no issue with the computer I was using, I just stopped. I couldn’t sit at my computer and keep playing, when in the back of my mind, there was no end result of this game. I can’t play a game that you can’t win.
Now don’t get me wrong. I think World of Warcraft is an amazing game, I find very few things wrong with it. I love learning more about the game, especially through the fantastic podcast “The Instance” by Scott Johnson and Randy Jordan, and they make me want to play again. But I just can’t. I WANT to be able to sit there, play for hours on end when I have the free time, and I want to get 100% into it, but something goes on in my head that I just can’t which sucks.
I’m not sure if anyone else feels the same way I do, but odds are someone is. If you do happen to agree with me on this topic, let me know, drop me a line on the comment board, or even on my Twitter.
That’s all from me now,
Catch ya lata
