inFAMOUS Review

Story:  You play as Cole Macgrath (yeh what a name for a super hero) a bike courier. A bomb has gone off in Empire City and the government has set a quarantine on the city so no one can get out as a plague has broken out. You soon realise that you have electrical powers and you have to choose to help rebuild the city and use them for good, or make the city yours and make people know your in charge i.e. use your powers for bad… you live on a roof with your best buddy zeke Dunbar and your on and off girlfriend Trish Dailey… you’d think a super hero would have a model for a girlfriend but nope your stuck with her and she doesn’t even like you! …err… any way the “TV Jacker” tells every one that you delivered a package with a bomb in it and blew up the city. As you try to escape from the angry mob who now hate you because you killed there dog… I mean it some one shouts that out.  You meet an FBI agent called Moya Jones and she gives you your missions throughout the game.

Game play:  As the game progresses you get and can upgrade more powers.  You gain powers by activating sub stations and restoring power to a certain area. Why should I do this? Well because obviously you can’t have unlimited powers being the “Super hero” you are oh no each power (apart from lightning bolts) require energy balls… yeh… and the better the power the more energy it takes up, you regain powers buy draining near by electrical sources such as lamp posts cars ect. Now you can scale buildings and it’s all good but they think you know where you’re going to go and he automatically holds on to stuff in free fall and it can get quite frustrating. Another thing that really gets me about this game is the enemies… before the blast they were drug dealers ect and now they some of them have powers even the weakest enemies shoot like they were in the SAS, you can’t avoid them and it can will be the cause of many of your deaths.  The game can get very repetitive because you need to conserve energy for bigger enemies you’ll use lightning bolt for pretty much the whole game and the missions are hardly fun, just escort or search and destroy and your friends seem to all be electricians because on escort/protect missions they’ve always got something rigged up to a generator…

Replay value:  Unless you want to replay the story to be good or bad there’s not much interesting stuff to do side missions are repetitive. You can collect blast shards and dead drops but really there’s just not much point in n starting over.

Voice acting: each character is very well played and you can really connect with each one except for Moya who sounds dull and boring and sounds like she’s just caching in a pay check and doesn’t really care about the game. The worst thing is this is the person you hear most

My views:  I think they could’ve done a lot more with infamous and made him far more of a bad ass and the morals in this game are messed up because if at the end of the game *SPOILER*  if your become truly infamous then you end the game looking like a bad ass you basically king of the city and your more powerful, how ever end it as hero and you get a speech about how alone you feel… I’m not kidding…
