Assassin’s Creed 2 getting Multiplayer
Seems like the fiscal year updates are the time for slip ups and misspoken quotes! During the fiscal update of 2009 Ubisoft revealed that the next episodes of Assassin’s creed will get an online multiplayer mode and will come out sometime in Spring 2011 fiscal year, which starts on April 2010. They also gave us updates on some of their other future projects.
“The 2010-11 fiscal year will see a greater number of franchise releases than fiscal year 2009-10, including Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, a new game in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series, Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands, Driver, Raving Rabbids 4 and a new episode of Assassin’s Creed, which will be the first in the series to have an online multiplayer mode,” the statement reads.
Unfortunately we were not given a release date to which the online modes will come out. Yet Ubisoft has clarified that this is not an expansion to Assassin’s Creed 2, but an entirely different addition to the franchise that will feature our favorite playboy assassin, Ezio. Seems like they are setting these features up to be similar to the Half-Life 2 Episodes that have recently been done. The Assassin’s Creed Episodes will puck up from where Assassins Creed 2 has left off.
