5 Reasons FFXIII Will Be Better On PS3

Before you guys start calling me a fanboy for writing this article. There is a 5 Reasons FFXIII Will Be Better On 360. Plus I own both, and my girlfriend would kill me if I got it on anything other than a PS3 because she’s been a fan since they were Nintendo’s titles. Now on with the list!
Note: Some info in this article is strictly guessing, and wishful thinking not confirmed.

5: Every Other FF Game Since VII!- That’s right ever Final Fantasy game since the classic and beloved Final Fantasy VII has been exclusive to Sony’s platform which proves Sony knows how to do FF games right? (Final Fantasy X-2 was a figment of your imagination)

4: It Was Finished First- If the devs are to be believed the said the game was finished on PS3 first because of the Japan release, so that means they had more time to fine tune the game until the 360 version was done so it should come out as the superior version one would suspect. Time will tell.

3: The Cell Processor/Blu-Ray- I’m going to combine these into one bullet for good reason. They both make examples of superior technology, but does it make a difference? The Blu-ray allows it to be on ONE disc rather than multiple dvds which have less storage capacity. So that’s a plus. We don’t know if Square managed to get all that they can out of the Cell yet, we will have to hope that since they had the extra time and they both used different graphical engines that the game will be superior on the PS3.

2: The Controller- Most gamers are used to playing the Final Fantasy series on a Sony branded system with their patented controller, so people will be more keen to their button setup and more adapt to roam and level up. The D-pad is worlds superior to the finicky D pad on the 360 in my opinion.

1: Load Times- It has been said there are a lot of loading screens, so with the power of the PS3 those load times will be shorter and to the point. Especially with the Blu-Ray drive and the power of the PS3.

Whatever platform you choose. The game is going to be FIRE! Straight up amazing. So everyone, have fun reading and discussing this on our comments and our forums. Let the rivalry commence.

  1. In case you didn’t know, the “power of cell” doesnt magically speed up load times. In fact, blu ray is the sole reason why most if not all ps3 games have longer loading times than their 360 counterparts.

Also, the game being finished first means they have much more time to work and tweak the 360 version.

  3. i was expecting a decent article but after reading the first reason i laughed and realised this was just another fan boy article
your first reason isnt true in the first place so i dont know how anybody else could take any of the other reasons to be true either.
you said that all games since FF7 were exclusives i believe your wrong there ff8 was on the pc aswell which means its not an exclusive and if you say it is then thats just got rid of all the ps3 fan boys excuses saying the 360 exclusives arent cause there also on pc.

hmm the controller i dont know how that would make a difference to be honest since myself and alot of people see the 360 controller as superior in every way including response times i have noticed and also the layout is just alot better.

now onto the load times hmm my favourite game of all time has some of the longest load times ever in a game because you have to install it for each part and its a ps3 exclusive(kinda shows im not a 360 fan boy there before anybody flames me) and its MGS4 the loading times/installing times were so long i usualy had time to go get a drink and go to the toilet before it was finished for each part.

now im not saying that ps3 version might be worse or not better its just in my opinion before writing a article you need to get some decent reasons first.

  5. Was expecting to read why I should buy it on my prefered console, the ps3. Instead its facts wronged.
As said the blue ray slows seaches and loading times compared to a dvd-drive.
Also imho the graphics card in the xbox360 is stronger but the ps3 has more processing power… at least you got that part right.

  6. ff13 will be on 4 DVDS on crap box 360. On the crap box360 version the audio will be compressed. the video in the x360 version will be 720p only. the x36 version will have huge loading times. above all x360 can RROD killing the gaming experience

if you want FF13 get it on PS3

if you want games on PC or beta games then get the RROD 3 FIX ME version

  8. It will be better on ps3 cos of cutscenes 1080, that’s it. Square have made more 360 games so I’m sure they will make it equal. I think 360 delayed it by a year and probably caused it to be more linear so disc swapping isn’t a hindrance.

I have been anticipating FFXIII for 3 years higher than any other game ever. My top 5 games ever are FF’s. I’m playing xiii right now on last chapter, and I can tell you that it is the most disappointing game by far I have ever played. Everything is dumbed down. The world is straight paths, the battle is mostly auto battle (just selecting jobs) when gambits was a fantastic system, the story is simple, there’s hardly any characters or depth to it. The maps are a joke, you cant explore anything, there’s no towns, no minigames, no friendly sidequests just random meaningless killing missions. Levelling up is diluted, the graphics are great on character models but very low poly on environments. This is not the FF of old with better graphics. I love immersive games, this is least immersive FF by far. FFVII-X took 1 year each, this should have taken 6 months to make it has the least content by far. There are 3 enemy characters in whole game, they only have a few lines each. There’s about 12 friendly characters. That’s it.

They really need to listen to what fans want, we all want FFVII quality game (depth of story, side quests, world, characters), not to dumb it down every sequel since. Gap in quality from FF12 to 13 is like from 1 to 7 in terms of everything but graphics.

  9. While yes I think it’ll be better on the PS3, your reasons are utter rubbish! As people have said, Blu-ray INCREASES load times – that’s why there are so many mandatory installs for PS3 games as opposed to X360 games!

    Your naivety offends me.

  10. Final Fantasy VII and VIII were not exclusives, as both were put onto the PC. Also, did you forget Final Fantasy XI? It has a pretty huge following from PC players.

  11. @ K-tuck ….. Dude PC isn’t a console, so FF 7 and all the other ones that went on pc (except for 11) are still exclusive, duh -.-

  12. HAHAHAHAHA
It’s Obvious he’s saying everything a fanboy would say…..which means he is totally making fun of you guys. The game is going to be awesome…and as a “crap” box 360 user…as someone intelligent said, i’m going to enjoy the hell out of this game. 4 discs or not. 4 discs makes me love it even more because it makes me think of how the games used to be like that. Nice Article man!!!!

  13. Well, I honestly don’t care which platform the game comes out on, I just like the series. The only 1 of those 5 up there that really has any meaning to me is the one about the controller. I don’t think any of the other 4 are that great of reasons for it to be ‘better’ for that system. Hell, 1 of them isn’t even entirely correct.
